Welcome in Gelléri Wine Cellar! The history of the winery One of the most dominant areas of the Balatonfüred-Csopak wine-growing region is FelsÅ‘örs, the land of mountain lakes and nice wines in the Balaton Uplands. The Gelléri Winery, owned by Gyula Antal and his family, is one of the most dominant wineries of the FelsÅ‘örs vineyards. The Antal FelsÅ‘gelléri Family of a noble origin settled down in the village in 1725. Gyula Antal named his winery Gelléri Wine Cellar in honour of this family. The ancestors sold their wine to a wine merchant in Vienna until 1945. Then came a few decades of interruption due to the Rákosi era and the period afterwards. Only the family wine cellar built from red stone remained. The present owner, Gyula Antal started to revive the ancestors’ activities with the help of a small vineyard after the political changes in 1989-90. He has been replanting the land inherited and bought since 1997. Together with the new vineyards, the family has a vine-land of 30 hectares. In the first years the yield was sold. They started producing wine for the market in 2002. The present unique bouquet and flavour of their wines are the result of continuous improvement and great care.
